UK Photonics Portal

A dynamic portal for UK Photonics, showcasing Photonics in the UK and linking between photonics people, skills, capabilities and organisations.

Using Linked Data technologies, it integrates multiple resources, many live from the source, so avoiding the staleness of many such information resources over time. The portal uses Seme4’s unique sameAs™ technology to provide an integrated view of the separately maintained and located knowledge needed.

To provide a professional and familiar feel to the user, at relatively low cost, and to enable the site’s maintainers to make any changes required with little training, it makes use of the industry-standard WordPress Content Management System for user and site owner interaction.
